INTRODUCTION:
Keesara is a village near Nandigama, in Western part of Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh. Our ancestors are the Karnamas (Village Officers) of Keesara Village.
Keesara Vamsam Mulapurushudu was Shri Venkata Ratnam. He was married to Smt.Venkamma. As there were no issues to the couple, they approached Gandepalli Vamsam to adopt Eldest son Shri Sankara Rao.
Here it is pertinent to mention that Shri Sankara Rao garu , had two younger brothers, viz., Shri Dasaradha Ramaiah garu, and Shri Hanumantha Rao garu.
THE GREAT ADOPTION: MURUGULU STORY (ARMLETS)
WHY SHRI DASARADHARAMAIAH GARU WAS ADOPTED IN STEAD OF SHRI SANKARA RAO GARU : AN AMUSING STORY
It was agreed between the families to give Shri Sankara Rao garu in adoption to Keesara Vamsam. Preparations were going on for the adoption. In the process, a Goldsmith was sent to Gandepalli vari House in Gandepalli to prepare two golden armlets ( Murugulu ) to Shri Sankara Rao. However, after knowing that Golden armlets were being made to the person to be adopted, Shri Dasaradha Ramaih offered himself for the adoption. So Shri Dasaradha Ramaih was adopted by Shri Venkata Ratnam garu as his son. The adoption took place approximately in the year 1890 A.D. Shri Dasaradha Ramaiah took over Karneekam from his adopted father Shri Venkata Ratnam at the age of 20, in the year 1900. He married Venkata Lakshmi Narasamma, in the same year.
SPREAD OF KEESARA VAMSAM
The couple had three daughthers and three sons.
In the order of their Birth, they are
1. Smt. Kanaka Durga 2. Shri Venkata Rama Narasimha Rao 3. Shri Jwala Narasimha Sarma, 4. Smt. Pedda Rajamma 5.Smt. Chinna Rajamma 6. Shri Yogananda Sarma
Smt. Kanaka Durga was given in marriage to Yeturi Jagannatha Rao, of Yeturu, the Karnam of the village Yeturu.
2. Smt.Pedda Rajamma was given in marraige to Shri Bhandaru Gopala Krishnaih garu, of Gandepalli village.
3. Smt. Chinna Rajamma was given in marriage to Shri Jamalapurapu Venkata Narasimha Rao, of Yerrupalem, near Madhira, of Khammam Dt., popularly known as Bullabbaigaru in the area. He was related to Jamalapurapu Kesavarao, a freedom fighter and a politician of repute of 1940's.
WHERE WE BELONG : OUR RISHIS
We belong to Bharadwaja Gothram and our Rishis are, Bharadwaja, Barahasptcha and Angeerasa.
We follow Yajurveda and so we are Yajusakhadyais. ( We devide the Havusus in four parts during Agni Karyam.)
THE ROOTS
In fact, Gandepalli Vamsam had its roots in Devalaraju Vamsam. Most of the Devalaraju families hail from Vijayawada and its sourrounding places. We still find many families of Devalraju Vamsastulu near KottaGullu (New Temples) around Shri Kanaka Durga Ammavari Temple, in Vijayawada. Since Devalaraju Vamsam has spread enormously, they were unable to perform SUBHAKARYAMS, in their families, due to death of one head of family of that Vamsam and the Subhakaryam had to be postponed due to the news of death. So, to avoid this recurring problem, some families carved out new Vamsams as per Sastras, by announcing fom a Telugu New Year or on the birth day of a Head of a Family, a New Vamsam. So is carved Gandepalli Vamsam from Devalraju Vamsam in the 19th Century around 1860 or so. This carving out a New Vamsam due to the above problem is popularly called as TATTALU TAGALESUKONUTA-- ie., announcing publicly that there would be no connection between Devalaraju Vamsam and the New Vamsam carved out, except human relations, and no Sutakam will be observed by the new Vamsatulu in case of deaths in Devalraju Vamsam.. This is an accepted principle by Vedic Pundits across Bharata Varsha and as contained in Manu Sastra
